Ardmore Basement
Renovation Project

The Ardmore Project began with a basement that had been partially finished over 20 years ago. Once used as a homeschool classroom, personal office, and storage area, the space no longer reflected the needs of our clients’ growing family — now filled with children and grandchildren.

Our goal was to reimagine the basement as a warm and functional living space where their large family could gather comfortably. We added a full kitchen featuring a refrigerator, gas stove, sink, and a central island with seating for four, creating the perfect spot for hosting and serving larger groups. The dining area now offers seating for six, ensuring there’s plenty of room for everyone.

To enhance the overall feel, we updated the wall, ceiling, and trim colors, and installed hardwood floors throughout. We thoughtfully selected every detail — from cabinetry, countertops, tile, appliances, and lighting to draperies, textiles, and furnishings. An existing bookcase in the new dining room was transformed with the addition of doors and simple hardware, giving it a polished look while providing storage for family photos, serving pieces, and art supplies for the grandchildren.

The result is a warm, welcoming space designed for connection, laughter, and making memories — a true reflection of the family who gathers here.
